Youth Climate Action

The Youth Engagement Funding Initiative (YEFI) is an annual funding opportunity offered by the Climate Change Education Centre that supports youth-based projects relating to climate change. Providing up to $1000 in support to youth of Newfoundland and Labrador, monies may be used to enhance existing initiatives, or may be applied to the development of a new project.

Past projects have included environmental awareness campaigns, such as recycling and composting education, and climate action projects, such as the development of hydroponic gardens, beekeeping, and more.

Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador (CCNL) provides climate change education programming to classrooms and youth serving organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador; funding for youth-led climate action projects; and professional learning resources on climate change. Our goal is to foster awareness of climate change science, impacts and solutions in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.
CCNL's climate education programming is supported by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Environment and Climate Change Newfoundland and Labrador, the Climate Change Education Centre, and the Youth Climate Action Now (YouCAN/TuPEUX) Atlantic partnership.
